One piece plastic model without side rear windows. Metal axles with plastic wheels. Double garage and gas station set with 5 Split Window VWs mounted on a printed cardboard (in several designs) and plastic cover to hold everything in place. There is printing on the cardboard of “REF. 514 – ECA BARCELONA – SPAIN.” ECA copied these toys from the neighbouring company EKO, also located in Barcelona. The EKO splits on the other hand were copies of the German Wiking splits...... Unclear is whether EKO and ECA had a business connection. The garage shown is a SIKU copy!
A second blister consists of a truck loaded with 6 different cars; two of them being a split window beetle. There is printing on the back of the cardboard of “REF. 517– CAMION TRAILER CON 6 TURISMOS".
A third blister shows a toll station "REF. 5– AUTOPISTA PEAJE".
The ECA Split Window was also sold in a set with the Fantastic Toys label and under the LA ILUSION distributor name.
