FRITZ WÜNNERLEIN & Co (WÜCO), was founded in 1906 and located in Zirndorf, Germany. During the pre WWII era, WÜCO mainly produced savings boxes and during the post war, era mechanical toys and cars as well.
They produced this tinplate body with solid windows and a lowered roof line appearance. Tinplate chassis with bumpers and a clockwerk motor. Metal button headlights. The body stamping is identical and the chassis has a similar mold stamping design to the HÖRNDLEIN FH126. WÜNNERLEIN is believed to have acquired the tooling from HÖRNDLEIN. They either came with a clockwerk motor (with a hole for a key at the left side) or without motor and without the hole. WÜNNERLEIN also produced a very nice tin lithographed Oval Window VW that has similarities as well.
Just to note: After 1945, WÜNNERLEIN produced tin toys under the name WÜCO.
