MEIWA KOGYO Co., Ltd. Tokyo, Japan, is the manufacturer and used a diamond shaped logo with MKK in the center.
The MKK VW Bus is nicely detailed with a tin body made of four main panels. The sides and roof are all one piece, then a nose panel, rear panel and chassis. Other parts that complete this toy are a chrome windshield surround, a tin opening rear hatch and smooth bumpers front and rear. The wheels are plastic with metal hub caps and they are propelled by friction motor with front wheel drive.
With the exception of the rear hatch, all windows are closed with clear plastic window insert. The sunroof has a frosted panel closure between the skylight window pressings. All versions have a one piece interior panel, but only the cab is detailed with dash panel and seats plus a plastic steering wheel. The dash also has the only printing on this toy, “Made in Japan”. Emergency versions have an additional dome roof light.
