This yellow plastic VW Pickup Bus was produced in Austria by the Company PROXIMA PLASTIK. Details include cut out windows, door seam lines and side bed doors have molded indentations. There is no chassis and the black plastic wheels with metal axles attach to the body with raised pillars. There is a red plastic insert for the front axle that may have represented at one time a pop in friction motor option. The pickup bed has molded the lettering PROXIMA PLASTIK MADE IN AUSTRIA. Information about PROXIMA PLASTIK is not known and the Company also produced a STEYR vehicle (Steyr-Puch Haflinger) as well.
This VW Pickup was also copied by another manufacturer with the PROXIMA PLASTIK MADE IN AUSTRIA lettering removed from the bed and colors of yellow, green and red have been seen. Another important difference is that the VW logo on the front of the bus was removed.
