RGG Verlag (publishers) was established in Braunschweig, Germany in 1958 and was specialised and leading in traffic education materials (books, traffic games, etc.) aimed at adults as well as children. RGG is an abbreviation of Rot Gelb Grün (red, yellow, green) and refers most probably to the street traffic lights with the colours RED, YELLOW and GREEN. In 2000, the RGG Verlag was bought by Verlag Heinrich Vogel and therefore ceased to exist as an independent publisher.
In the early 1960s, RGG produced for the schools in city of Braunschweig an educational traffic instruction box (modellkasten). The box set included automobiles, road traffic signs, stand-alone figures and figures on bicycles and scooters. The 1/87th scale automobiles were a VW Cabriolet with the top down and an Opel Rekord. The automobiles and some figures were produced by WIKING and some figures and the traffic signs were produced by SIKU.
