Mr. Falaceu Álvaro Pires founded the company Leirisense Plástico (FLP Fábrica Leiriense de Plásticos) in 1955 and manufactured utensils, toys and sleeves for agriculture. Despite not knowing a single word of English and hardly speaking French, he travelled regularly around Europe to look for new products for his factory. He sold Leiriense Plástico in 2000 to the Plasteuropa group.
