TOY NOMURA Co., Tokyo, Japan was founded in 1923 and used a trademark of T.N inside a diamond. In the 1950's and 1960's they were one of the largest toy manufacturers of Japan. In 1993, the company was bought by HASBRO, Inc. TOY NOMURA, like many other Japanese toy manufacturers, produced toys for the USA market and used the toy importer CRAGSTAN, based in New York.
TOY NOMURA produced this nice size Oval Window VW toy as a tin body with cut out windows and very good details of front and rear hood, door seams and rear oval window with air louvers. Small tin body parts include headlights, hood handle, windshield trim, and side trim. The tin lithograph interior was not that of a VW design. Rear deck lid has three plastic colored slats. Tin chassis with bumpers and a friction motor with a flint sparkler seen through the plastic rear deck lid slats. Rubber tires with VW hubcaps. The T.N insignia may or may not be printed on the interior seen through the rear oval window. The red, blue and grey are the common colors with the other colors seldom found. Similar to the tin ALPS Oval Window Volkswagen.
