The Beteco firm was located in Berlin, Germany. They developed this very nice driving school game with 3 split window VW beetles. The player uses a crank handle and a steeringwheel to manoeuvre one of the 3 beetles with a magnet attached underneath on a course. The course can be decorated with houses, bridges and traffic signs. The beetles most probably were not manufactured by Beteco, but bought from an unknown manufacturer. The carton box measures 53 cm in length. Back then the set was sold for 48 Mark, which now would be the hefty equivalent of 300 Euro or US$. This high price and the competition by much cheaper products of competitors like Perma and Magneto most probably is the reason why this game now is ultra-rare. Not many of those games will have been sold back then. We are only aware of this one (complete) game....

The cars consist of a plastic body with solid windows and details of the front and rear hood, doors and headlights. No chassis and the blue, red or yellow plastic wheels are with wire axles attached to the body. There is a round mold mark under the front hood and under the back part of the roof. This is believed to also be the same as UNKNOWN SPLIT VW PLASTIC 08.
