Unconfirmed rumors are that it was produced by a German company called HERA, but we have not yet been able to confirm this.... Who knows more?

Recently also a truck has surfaced made by the same manufacturer. See enclosed pictures. Does anyone know what model it represents?

The original tooling (body only) also still exists and it was found in the 1980s on a Hamburg, Germany, flea market. Refer to the listing: UNKNOWN METAL KdF VW 02 B. This original tooling was, in the late 1980’s, loaned to the Volkswagen Wolfsburg Museum, Germany. They restored the tooling and plans were made to produce a limited-edition model. Refer to the listing: UNKNOWN METAL KdF VW 02 C. This limited-edition model would have been sold through the VW Wolfsburg Museum store. The project however was never completed. A limited number of prototypes, approximately 5-8, were produced from Resin. This prototype model came with a chassis, closed windows but without interior. No production models were ever produced.
