
In 1873 the Lenel brothers founded together with Friedrich Julius Bensinger in Mannheim Germany, the "Rheinische Hartgummi-Waaren-Fabrik“, which produced soft rubber and celluloid products, like dolls. After 1933 the Company was confiscated by the Nazi regime. In 1954, a cooperation with Käthe Kruse led to the production of dolls again and later also toy cars. The Company was renamed in 1965 to " SCHILDKRÖT AG."
Soft plastic VW Pickup Bus body with solid windows. Good details of the headlights, VW emblem, windows, door seams, side panels, taillights and bumpers. No chassis except for molded cross sections and black tires on metal axles.
