The firm of H. WITTROCK A/S was established in 1935 by Helmuth Wittrock in Copenhagen, Denmark. The company started in the radio industry, but, because of the shortage of supplies during the war, the company moved to other products, like glass, china and toys. The demand for mechanical toys proved to be profitable, so Wittrock focused on toys. In 1949, the company presented a series of newly developed H0 trains and accessories. A new company logo - a globe on which a train running on rails - was created. The production of model trains ceased in 1960. Also in the fifties, Wittrock produced several tinplate and plastic toy cars. In the late fifties the demands for quality toys grew and Wittrock became an importer rather than a producer of many foreign toy brands in Denmark. Today Wittrock is still in business and a leader in its field in Denmark.

Tin lithographed VW Bus in two styles, a Panel Van and a Single Cab with cut out windows. The Panel Van and Single Cab both have a nice red/yellow lithograph design with details. Details include door seams and handles. The Panel Van VW has the lines of a barn door style for the engine door, taillights, and license plate light. License plate number of 30412. Tin headlights, VW emblem and only the front bumper attach to the body. The Single Cab Bus has the cargo space side doors that fold down. License plate number of A-20414. Both Busses have a friction motor with rubber tires. The Busses came in a very colorful cardboard box (VW PICKUP Nr.126, VW VAREVOGN Nr. 124) with nice scene drawings on the box. Very similar and considered to be a copy of the GÖSO VW Bus.
