Yoshiya, also known as Kobe Yoko Ltd. was a major Japanese toy maker from the post war period (1950 - 1970). Their logo carried the letters "KO" or "KOT" in a diamond. The meaning of the name Yoshiya is 'God will deliver'.
A very nice tin plate Volkswagen Convertible with the top down. Tin body painted and there are metal trim pieces that include headlights, front hood strip with VW hood emblem and side trim. The metal windshield with clear plastic insert and a plastic folded down top attaches to the body. The tin interior has a lithograph design detailing the dashboard, seats and steering wheel finishes off the details. The tin chassis with shiny tin bumpers is painted black and has an electric motor with rubber tires and metal hubcaps. There is a battery compartment for two “D” cell batteries and a switch that operates a “Bump-N-Go” motor. Lighted engine compartment with translucent blue or red plastic lid. Driver has tin plate body and arms with plastic molded head.
