ANGUPLAS was founded by Jorge Angusto Amillach in Spain in 1958. ANGUPLAS produced many 1:87 car models and building kits. Many were designed by themselves, but they also used molds of companies like Norev. Famous is the Mini cars series of Anguplas; the molds were later acquired by EKO and they kept producing these toys for many years.

The low-light KARMANN GHIA was No. 83 in the MINI CARS set. The plastic body came with cut out windows and good details of front air lovers, rear engine louvers, door seams, and separate chromed headlights. Clear plastic window insert and the chrome-plated chassis molded in plastic, with inside metal weights. Chassis is molded MINI CARS – KARMANN GHIA MADE IN SPAIN 1/86, and is attached with melted plastic posts. Rear license plate reads MC 83, and is painted white. Wheel variations have been noted.
