I acquired an interest in Zeppelin Airships during the 1980s while working in Friedrichshafen, Germany, the home of the Zeppelins. In 1999, while waiting for the construction of my new house to be completed, I was renting a house & all my hobbies were all packed up in boxes. I was a little bored & decided to build a 100th scale Graf Zeppelin model out of balsa wood - from scratch. The original Graf Zeppelin Airship was 236 m (776 ft) long & 30 m (100 ft) in diameter. So the 100th scale model would be 2.365 m (7.76 ft) long & .3 m (1 ft) in diameter. I found this drawing of the Graf Zeppelin & had it enlarged to about 2 feet long & all the lines became blurry & disconnected. All the lines were redrawn & enlarged again to the size of 100th scale. Check out the photo set to see the construction of this amazing start to finish Zeppelin project.
