During 1946, that Volkswagenwerk factory was growing in leaps and bounds! There was a special celebration noting that 1000 VW sedans were produced during the month of March! There is a special iconic photo showing the 1000th VW sedan coming off the assembly line. The driver of the 1000th VW sedan is of course Major Ivan Hurst! Still in the same year 1946, a few months later in October, the Volkswagenwerk had another celebration. It was to commemorate the 10,000th VW Sedan produced since the factory was started up in the previous year. There is also a special iconic photo showing the 10,000th VW sedan also coming off the same assembly line with Major Ivan Hurst standing by the left front fender!
