While driving in the German countryside one day, Bob Gilmore pulled into an ESSO gas station for gas in the small town of Göggingen. While there, he noticed a strange looking VW Cabrio parked along the side of the gas station but did not know for sure what it was. He took a closer look as it was in rough condition and only knew that it had the same type dashboard as his friend’s 1949 VW Split Window Sedan so he thought it must be old.
