During our 1992 summer vacation, we had a very rainy day and we decided to visit a toy store. There I saw a VW Beetle 1303 LS Sedan and also a Convertible in a red metallic color produced by SIKU. The SIKU production facility was located in the town of Lüdenscheid, in Germany, the town where I grew up as a kid. Nevertheless, I cannot recall ever having owned a SIKU toy car as a kid? I bought both VW toys and that was the start of my collection.
